Now This is a Morning Wakeup

Went to turn on my Keurig this morning and checked the water reservoir only to see a rather large, hairy brown spider floating at the top. Gross! I have scrubbed that reservoir and sanitized it and ran several runs of hot water through the system. The lid was tight, so I guess from now on I take a good look at the water before I drink a beverage. Anyone else find surprises like this?

Never. Ick, sorry you did.

There's a hole in the back of the reservoir where a spout goes and it doesn't matter how tight the lid is, so I always check the water before I press the button.

Oh dear, that would gross me out too.  Smiley Sad   I always add water in the AM but will make sure to double check from now on.

@Mystery solved. Thanks @ChynnaBlue.  I have used  Keurig for years and this was a first. You can be sure I will check my water too.

Yuck.  I have just the mini Keurig, but because it sits for 6 months while my snowbird life is elsewhere, I always run a vinegar rinse through my machine before I use it for the first time each season.

I will pass the spout info onto my friends who have the bigger machines.

Double yuck!

Last night I let the dog in from her potty time and she ran up the stairs to the bedroom.  She stopped at the doorway and twirled around and a big black spider started running around on the floor.  I presume she carried it in with her.  Glad I got it before it went into my room because I would have torn that place apart searching for it.

Re: Now This is a Morning Wakeup

I've never found one in the water tank (I've had a keurig around 4-5years) but I'll tell you where I did!  I opened it to put in a new kcup and the spider came from behind and ran onto the old kcup!  Scared the mess out of me!

Ewwww....thankfully I've never done that.   I have that filter in place always so none is getting into my coffee.

Yikes.  Reading this has been an eye opener.  I never even look at the water other than to check the level.  I think I'll start being more careful about my morning cup of coffee!
