The forum has been full of name calling back and forth about defective items in Temp-tations and why they have cracked. I don't think anyone is lying, but neither do I think this is a terrible product. Let's do some math.
The 13 by 9 lid-it casserole has sold over 100,000 pieces but let's stick with an even 100,000. If one percent of the pieces broke, that would be 1,000 pieces. Assuming that 99% of the people just grumbled about it and only 1% of the unhappy customers posted on the forum, there would be 100 individual posters about this one piece alone. There appear to be less than that, so one might assume there are fewer problems. So, it is reasonable to assume that the unhappy customers here are certainly telling the truth, while those who defend the product as one that has served them well are also telling the truth.
A 1% (or less) damage rate is pretty low. It means that 99% or more of Temp-tations pieceds are ok. I think in the production of any product, 99+% quality rate is good, especially in a breakable product like stoneware. Temp-tations just won a Customer Choice Award, so that would appear to support my theory that while the posters here have had unhappy experiences, they are a very small minority of customers.
