Ninja TSV question

Before this cooking "system," Ninja offered a similar appliance called SEARious slowcooker. It appears to be the same as the TSV except it doesn't offer the oven function. For those who have either, do you think the oven function is the same as putting the TSV on stovetop medium or high. I don't see how there can be another component that just does the oven portion. These SEARious slowcookers have gone down quite a bit in price. If they are essentially the same thing, it would be a much better deal, I think. Please let me know what you think.

Also, to those who ordered the cookbook from Bed Bath & Beyond, can you advise the title or some way to find it. I couldn't locate it on their website. Thanks, as always.
