Have you used both?

Which do you prefer and why?

(Both my 3Qt. and 6 Qt. Instant Pots have died and I'm shopping.)

Comparing the Foodi to the Instant Pot is like comparing apples to beans.  They do different thing, perform different functions.  You can read descriptions of what they do online.  Prices are quite different too.

Apparently comparing these two appliances isn't "apples to beans". It's a legitimate comparison. They can be used in different ways because of some particular features in  each, but they are not so unique to each other that they can't be reviewed together. Plenty of overlap in similar use. 

I Googled the search terms "ninja Foodi versus instant pot" and got many informative results. These two can be directly compared. Here is  a head start of one review and you can find others on your own with a Google search.

@gizmogal.  There may be some overlap but just try to air-fry or brown  in an Instant Pot.  Also a 6qt Instant Pot does not cost anywhere near $200.  A FoodI will probably cost more.

Some gals in here have gotten great deals on the black/grey Foodi

thru Amazon, Sam's, etc. 

I've got 2 Foodi's and one Instant Pot , so, I'm covered. 

All depends on what U cook and how you cook for your own

lifestyle.

I have an 8 qt instant pot and a 6.5 qt foodi. Love both. The pressure feature is exactly the same. I like both because of the different functions. I can make cold start yogurt in my instant pot and the foodi browns food beautifully. I use both regularly and wouldn't want to give up either.

My main purpose in writing my reply was to show that comparisons exist and I provided a one-to-one example of reviews that compare the two items, so the OP could evaluate the features and benefits of each appliance.

I was not being black and white stating they couldn't possibly be compared, nor that they are completely the same.  I was just indicating that this could be researched and it wasn't impossible to decide which one would be right for the OP. That the link i offered  happened to cover 6 qt sizes or if prices were accurate is not the point I hoped to emphasize; only that there are functional overlaps and the OP could read independently for decisions about which functions were best for her, as well as sizes and price points. The article wasn't offered as gospel of literal factual worth. It's just an example that these two things are able to be fairly compared. 

i still don't think apples to beans is quite accurate when comparing two items that mostly sell themselves as pressure cookers. They're quite similar,  but each does some things better than the other. Or has a benefit of size or price or ease of use or cleaning that makes a difference when choosing. They are similar enough to compare fairly. 

I've only heard the expression as comparing "apples to oranges", but I was willing not to be picky about a colloquialism. It's clear that you feel you must  be right, so beans it is.
