This is a very thorough review of the new VM 780.  I don't know the cost, but ti's very modern looking. I love my old VM!

Re: New Vitamix 780

[ Edited ]

Wow, what a departure for Vitamix and I really like it!  I love that they designed it so that many older containers will still work with it.  My only concern would be the sliding speed dial as that could be a bit difficult for some people to use but overall I really like what they have done.

Thanks for posting the link @Lacey1!

Over 30 years ago they cost $500.  My husband referred to mine as the $500 daiquiri maker.

@Lacey1, thank you so much for the link to Henry's Vitamix reviews. They're great and he's very thorough.

I love my Vitamix Pro 750 which I bought 2-3 years ago, but when I saw that they had a new model I wondered what I might be missing.

When Henry started describing the differences between them, I started thinking that I liked my model better. Then he mentioned that for the hands on cook (like me), that the Pro 750 was the one to go with. lol, I'm so happy that my Pro 750 is still the best Vitamix for me. Smiley Happy

I use my Vitamix Pro 750 every day to make My Vitamix Green Smoothie recipe Smiley Happy. The cheaper brands just don't emulsify the green leafy vegetables (kale, swiss chard, napa cabbage, mustard greens, etc.). You're left with undrinkable bits of green confetti in the smoothie.

Yes I know---I got my mom's VM and she bought it 1980 at $500 or so. Not sure she used it alot and I've had it for at least 5 years. It is all stainless steel.  I used it every day since and have noticed that it doesn't do as well now. Would love a new however. I have the NutriBullet 900 that works great and I use that everyday. Extracts all the greens until smooth and creamy. but it's not a Vitamix.
