Kitchenaid has made a Limited Edition Artisan Black Tie Mixer. It is solid black, bowl, beaters, dough hook but not wire wisk. Only 500 to be made and you can have one for the low. low price of $999.99!!

Something tells me QVC won't be offering this model.

I wouldn't have one if they offered it free.  I avoid all things black in my house.  There so much dust in the air, I'd have to dust it every single day.

Apparently people are buying it.  There are six reviews,  one reviewer said it is the color of cast iron and complained of plastic parts.

My kitchen appliances are black, but the mixer did nothing for me.  I will still keep using my 35 year old almond colored mixer.  It runs great and is probably built better than today's models.

The article said they will offering a limited addition mixer annually.  I wonder if anyone will collect them alI. I love KA mixers, but not for $1000.
