This is easy, pick up a package of nice crackers, red pepper jelly and some cream cheese. Guests can layer the crackers with the cream cheese, then the jelly. I guarantee it will be gone before the night is over.

I have done this before but used green jalapeño jelly!! Put cheese block on plate, pour the jelly over, place serving butter knife close and serve with crackers or pita bread pieces!

Re: Need Easy Appetizer Recipe

all my friends love this one:

One large ontainer of whipped cream cheese

2 Pkgs of smoked salmon

1/2 red onion

several Yukon Gold potatoes sliced into medium thick slices

Layer the potatoes onto a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil on both sides. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake at 400 until browned. Let cool.

Dice the onion and salmon. Blend into the cream cheese.

Spread the salmon mixture onto the potato slices.

You can prepare the spread and the potatoes the day before and just assemble them the day of the party. I often garnish with capers.

This is how I've had this one as well. One of my friends makes jalapeno jelly so she generally either brings this or an awesome homemade corn salsa.

Re: Need Easy Appetizer Recipe

I cover the block of cream cheese with the red pepper jelly.....not the hot one. You can do it when you arrive there or at home just before leaving the house. Bring along a nice box of crackers to spread it on. Always a hit where ever I take it. Have a great time!

Not very sophisticated, but one item that I found to be a huge hit for afternoons on the boat is Kettle Popcorn. People will call me to ask if I am bringing it! {#emotions_dlg.lol}

For low-carbers, you can't go wrong with a special wedge of cheese--a slice of good quality asiago or manchego with a glass of wine--perfection!

Re: Need Easy Appetizer Recipe

The rollups and pepper jelly are both great ideas. From your post, I imagine your gathering is tonight so you have probably decided on what to take. Another easy thing that always seems to be gobbled is taking a bunch of cocktail shrimp with plenty of lemon wedges and seafood sauce. Hope you have a great time whatever you take.

Re: Need Easy Appetizer Recipe

We discovered Harry & David, Pepper and Onion Relish. Add the 10oz jar to a container of soft cream cheese. Oh my, you will have a tough time with portion control.

Re: Need Easy Appetizer Recipe

I make pepper jelly every fall so that is always a good one for me.

If you have a Trader Joes they have a mango ginger chutney that is so delicious, I sometimes do that over a block of cream cheese. They also have really delicious Pita crackers which are perfect for this as they are extra crunchy and sturdy so they don't break when people scoop or spread.
