Re: My coffee maker died today ...

I didn't know that Starbuck's makes a instant.

My brand is Chock Full o.Nuts, with Maxwell House backup brand.  (For emergencies, I have a jar of Chock on hand.

I feel your pain @ALRATIBA.  I'm not fit for society without coffee in the morning. For years I used a Melitta Grind N Brew, which I used till it died, couldn't get another. Then I switched to a Keurig, used that for years and it still sits on my counter as a backup or if I'll only have time for 1 cup. But generally now I use a Cuisinart Grind N Brew and like it a lot. It's great to use whole bean coffee and have it ground fresh each morning.

Is Starbucks Via (instant) still made? I always thought that was a great cup of coffee in a pinch.

I am not fancy but I do love my coffee. I have an old Mr Coffee drip coffee maker and I use it every morning. I have a backup just in case. Friends have Kurigs and expensive espresso makers and that's fine but I love my plain jane Mr Coffee. I take it with me when I visit people who do not drink coffee. I'm not high maintenance but I need a fan to sleep and coffee to wake up.  Smiley LOL

Re: My coffee maker died today ...

If you're in the market for a new coffee maker, I suggest you shop for one with a "showerhead" water dispenser.  Most coffee makers in years past simply direct a single stream of water into the middle of the basket.  Many of the newer ones have multiple streams that guarantee all the grounds get water at once.  I had a Cuisinart that never made very good tasting coffee.  The last maker I bought two years ago is a Ninja brewer with the sprinkler head and the difference was amazing.  Same model currently sells at Wmart for $75.
