Mixing Bowls -- Anything New or Great?

Hi, all. I have a set of three white mixing bowls, 1-2-3 quarts, with pour spouts and silicone rings on the bottoms. Love them but I've had them forever and they are finally biting the dust, rings going, one spout broken, accumulated scratches.

I've seen many sets of bowls on Q and elsewhere but none of them seem to be that nice, thick, smooth kind of plastic--I think it's melamine? I was about to buy the Kitchen Aid set, but then I saw a set from KA in a store and they seemed rather flimsy. Possibly Kitchen Aid makes different qualities, though.

Who has bought a new set of bowls lately, and what looks good?

shophq has a beautiful stainless with weighted silicone bottom, it doesn't move when you're mixing, they can also be used in the oven! And it comes with a lid. Seems very practical

Re: Mixing Bowls -- Anything New or Great?

Not recent, but I bought a set of 21 mixing bowls by Pyrex from Williams Sonoma. I've had them for 15 years.

The smallest one will hold 3 teaspoons of spices and the largest will hold a big piece of meat or a while chicken with the brine.

I use them frequently. They aren't fancy, but they don't break apart.

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

Re: Mixing Bowls -- Anything New or Great?

Last year I bought the Fiesta set of 3 bowls....in Marigold. I don't mix in them with my mixer, but do use them when I can use a wooden spoon. I love to use the largest one for rising bread dough. And they're beautiful on my hutch.
