Mini Turkey Dinner This Week 1/19/24

Thanksgiving is a fav meal for me.  Turkey, dressing, and cranberry sauce the star of the show.

(During Thanksgiving, I bought a large turkey breast, not the small ones carried during the year) with plans to do a simple meal in the winter and have a few turkey sandwiches.

I'll do a few green items, no extra starches and enjoy.

@ECBG Sounds like a good choice!

We use a lot of ground turkey breast meat in spiced burger form, in spaghetti sauce, and cooked with spices and beef broth for turkey chili or taco salads.   We have even mixed it with ground beef or bison for a very good meatloaf.

You reminded me that we have a turkey in our freezer. I'm going to start the thawing process and make it next Saturday.

during the last year of covid, we had to cancel Thanksgiving. So, i did a Thanksgiving-super bowl-Valentine's day dinner. Everyone loved it and i got a 18lb. turkey out of the freezer.

enjoy the day.

@LizzieInSRQ

Do you have celery seed?

The second shelf in my refrigerator freezer is large bottles of spices.

I use celery seed and poultry with turkey in addition to celery.

Re: Mini Turkey Dinner This Week 1/19/24

That is our dinner tonight. I have a pound of sliced turkey. My son decided he no longer wanted turkey sandwiches for his lunch.

So we are having sliced turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and sweet potatoes too. Haven't decided on the green vegetable but since I have fresh broccoli, it will probably be the winner. But not sure how I will cook it yet.

Can't go wrong with turkey.
