Maybe a bit off-topic: How do you keep your house clean?

I no longer have the energy to clean the whole house in one day. As a result, it's never all clean at the same time. I find this very discouraging. I tried setting up a calendar so I could clean one area each day, but life gets in the way and I haven't stuck to it.
