Can you make apple butter in a Vitamix ? thank you

I have only ever made apple butter the old fashioned way. Outside, in big copper pots over a wood fire and stirring all day long. Lol. I think my cousin has made it on the stove but I hear it doesn't taste very good. I don't know if you could get it cooked down enough in a Vitamix. It's very watery and that's why it takes hours to cook down.

I agree with cosmic, I don't think you can use the Vitamix. You need to cook it for a long time to get to the right consistency.

My immediate response would be no, but this is based on the way my family has always made our apple butter. The color and consistency we aim for comes with a much longer cooking time that would never be achieved in a Vitamix.

We make our homemade apple butter in the crockpot. The longer you cook it the better the taste.
