I would like to order a cake to send to a friend's memorial service that is out of state this weekend.  Anyone have any recommendations as to a specific cake they know is very good?

I have had good luck with My Grandma's.  Arrive well packed, freeze well and taste very good.  Just like I made years ago.

@soonersis   I would most likely send a Grandma's coffee cake -  any choice.  Those cakes travel well and can be used easily any time of day -  and if they receive more food than they can use, those cakes freeze beautifully.

Maybe someone who has used their website recently will chime in or have a better idea.

Google bakeries in the town the memorial service is being held & look for feedback on their cakes...most will deliver to the location on the day you want & you'll know it arrived in time. Sorry for your loss. Best Wishes.

I have used The Kiffle Kitchen and have been very pleased. QVC also sells items from the Kiffle Kitchen on occasion.

They sell individual cookies and delicious pastries. They might be easier to deal with a group of people. No pieces of cake to be sliced and put on plates with a fork.

A number of years ago Shoekitty turned me on to 'Smith Island Baking Company' products.

They are on the east coast.   The cakes are beyond.  The coconut cake is my favorite.  I've also had the banana one and loved it.  Can't remember what else, as I don't remember very well anymore.

Not cheap, but worth it IMO.  Smiley Happy

I've been looking online and saw the Daisy Cake ones.  The lemon and carrot cake look really good and I also found a $20 coupon that will work.  These are the cakes that were on Shark Tank.

Anyone ever had one of these?

Yes & it was very good. Shipping would be a concern since the service is this weekend...that's  why my other post suggested a local bakery that will deliver directly to the location. Whatever you decide I hope it works out perfectly. Be well @soonersis.
