Made Freezer Jam Using New Ninja

This is our second year making jam from our Japanese Plum trees. Last year the jam didn't gel. It tasted great on ice cream and was OK on bread but didn't gel all the way.

This year I thought, "no way am I mashing those plums by hand to have the same result." So I bought the TSV Ninja. Today we made half of our plums into 7 - 16 oz jars. It worked really well. The jam is already geling. (sp?) I chopped the plums in the large container and then used the cookie dough attachment to mix the plums with the pectin/splenda mixure. (We used sugar last year) Five pulses took care of the recommended three minute stir by hand. We had a little extra so we had to try it on a little vanilla ice cream. WHOA we may have to go in business.

It does take a little practice. We marked them in batches, how many pulses to chop, how many for the adding pectin/splenda mixture, but all an all hubby and I did a good job. We're giving one to our neighbors who complain that others in our area come and steal their plums and never offer them a jar of jam. I told hubby we may create a monster if they like it. LOL We might get requests next year.

The only thing that would have made it easier would be to have two motors and two pulse tops so we could have both containers ready to go.
