MAPLE FROSTING

Since there are many posted recipes for pumpkin cake I will not post my recipe for it but this frosting is delicious on many things including pumpkin cake.

 

8 oz cream cheese, softened
4 T butter, softened
2 T maple syrup
1/2 t maple extract
2-1/2 cups confectioners sugar
1/8 t salt

1/2 cup toasted walnut pieces (optional)

 

Beat cream cheese and butter together.

 

Beat in maple syrup and  extract.  Then mix in sugar and salt.  Adjust the consistency with maple syrup or sugar if needed.  

 

Frost cake then sprinkle walnut on top if using.
