Looking for good brand of canned tuna

I would appreciate any recommendations. I like making tuna salads but the tuna I've bought lately has not been very good. TIA.

hi,

If you belong to Costco, their albacore is really tasty. And I'm not a big fan of fish.

Hi @RetRN ...  If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, try their canned SkipJack tuna.  Fair price and according to many, the best type of tuna.  Low mercury levels.

I love it. Cat Very Happy

It's available at other groceries also, however, I have found it to be less expensive at TJ's.

@RetRN   We recently had a thread where someone recommended a great brand of tuna maybe from Amazon.  I looked but couldn't find the thread.

Maybe it was @Sooner ?

The Kirkland brand of albacore tuna sold at Costco is Bumblebee albacore tuna.  I buy it all the time, but especially during the summer when I make tuna salad more often.

Wild Planet wild caught. I prefer mine packed in oil. But I usually supplement the 1 can with 2 pouches of Starkist lemon pepper.

To add zip to my tuna salad, I always sprinkle with curry and apple pie spice. And I have to include chopped red bell pepper, besides onion, celery & fresh parsley.

@RetRN

I buy Kirkland Signature Solid White Tuna in Water and have for the last 9 years. Never fishy and you get a bundle of 8 cans for about $15.  I keep them in my fridge in the basement.  I mix two cans if I make a tuna sub with lettuce and tomato on long Brioche rolls or loaf bread.  I switched to Kirkland because once I got sick on Bumble Bee or Chicken of the Sea (can't remember which). A friend who was using Kirkland gave me a can to try and I stuck with it.

If that's true, Bumblebee hasn't been that great lately.

@Kachina624   I found it.  It is TONNO tuna.
