Just ordered a new set of Lock and Lock and I am finding that the lids do not do well in the washer.  I place the lids in the top shelf and they are not locking like they should.  Just wondering if this is happening with all of the new manufactured Lock and Lock?

I've had that happen previously.  I wash mine by hand now.  But the ones that did that before are fine after they cool off.

@tampalady  I always "air" dry.  No issues in 10 yrs.

I've always hand washed those lids.  Some of mine are really OLD and all still work fine.  So maybe just skip the dishwasher.

The newer L & L are made with thinner materials.  The tabs break off and the lids don't fit after a while.

I have found that the round ones are the worse.

I have some that are clear yellow, clear pink and clear blue that are some of the first ones made.  They are still like new and my newer ones are are in worse shape.

I don't put my LocknLock in the dishwasher, so I wouldn't know if that affects it. But it seems like some of the newer colored lids have a different curve to their hinges, so I've found that if you press the lid down a bit on the container to make sure the seal is fully engaged, it makes it easier to lock those tabs in place. And it often is simpler if you lock the tabs on opposite sides and then the other opposite sides rather than going around the edge one by one. Good luck!

I hand wash Lock n Lock. I think the dishwasher and microwave cause pitting on them.

I hand wash mine.  But they do pit and stain.  I don't usually microwave in them, but SO, he does with the bowls.  My lids stay great, unlike the bowls.

I'm so having a very difficult time eliminating my many lock & lock containers. I'm into more less toxic materials to store my food in.I'm changing over to all glass. I've been doing a lot of donating.

Thank you for your comments.  I have always placed in dishwasher with no issues.    I will have to handle the new lids differently.  Thanks again!!!
