WHAT DID I MISS?

Is this a current thread?  What am I missing? I thought today was a d&co TSV.

Thanks, @house_cat.  I was busily searching the website for this TSV, thinking it was today lol.

I have too many now, but I could donate the ones in colors I don't like as much.  Would go for this if it was free shipping.

@OKPrincess

Tell ur hubby that food stays fresher longer in LocknLocks; bugs do not enter these containers; you could see what's in each container - in ur pantry, refrigerator, freezer. It's an investment!!!!!!

I'm still using all my LocknLock that I purchased from the Q - some I purchased around 10 yrs ago. Never threw out any of them. When I open my pantry, all my rice, cereals, pastas, chocolates, cookies, coffee beans, marshmallows are in various-sized containers. I freeze bread in LocknLocks - and use them in my refrigerator.

I have a square set of nestables - 5 pieces - tangerine color (my favorite color) and use when I run out of the older ones.

One of my best purchases!

For anyone that is a long time Lock and Lock owner, and understands the changes that have been made over the years, I have a cautionary note.

Take a good look at the set, and notice how many different styles of latches are on the pieces.

In my opinion the only really good latches that Lock and Lock makes are the ones we see in this set, on the rectangles to the far right of the picture. They have what I call the double locking tabs as they align with 'tabs' if you will, on the container itself.

There are several different styles of latches on the other shapes, all of which I've had before, and none of which I really care for in terms of strength, and ability to lock the piece really tightly. I find they leak easier and more often without those double tab kind of latches.

It's a great price for the set, and I'm tempted. If they all had the same locking system as the rectangles I'd be getting a couple of sets, but for now I'm on the fence because of the latches.

I totally agree!  I think not only the lids are lesser quality but the containers seem thinner as do the rims.  That being said, DH hates the ones where you have to line up the tabs with the lids so I'm pacifying him LOL!!

I've been a slacker lately and I've got stale chips and crackers in my pantry and huge glass bowls in my fridge with a small amount of leftovers in each taking up space.  I laid down the law today Smiley Wink EVERYTHING is going into a Lock & Lock and I broke down and ordered the set.

Glad to know someone else has noticed the same thing. And yes you are right, the base of the containers are much thinner as well. So much so, some of mine actually kind of bend and flex unlike the more rigid double tab ones, and the old ones from back in the day when clear was all they had.

I mentioned this before when Lock n Lock was a TSV: to me it is the appeal analogous to that of a new box of crayons when I was a little girl, in effect: "OOH! LOOK! NEW COLORS! NEW SPARKLY COLORS! AND THINK OF ALL THE NEW POSSIBILITIES!!!" (LOL)

Now HELP ME TO NOT ORDER THE CHAMPAGNE COLOR OF THE TSV!

Re: Lock & Lock TSV

Hey there, mominohio, you sure have an eagle eye!  Smiley Happy

I was wondering why cylindrical pieces (the canisters?) have those wee locks but I did not notice untl reading your post that there is a third and smaller type of latch on the containers on the left side of the photo.  I wonder if Chris will note this in her presentations and explain why the difference.  I could not agree more that the double locks are a great feature of L&L.  In my experience, it creates almost a vacuum seal,  It would be a terrible shame if they move away from that design because the other tabs are less expensive to manufacture.

I understand people like new colors and sizes but to me, the best lock and lock set I ever purchased was my first set.  It was ingenious in  that there were 1/2 cup, one cup and two cup sized containers yet they all used the same size lid.  I could store the complete set including lids in a very small space.  Please bring that set back and I

promise I will but it.

I ordered blue.  Now, honestly I don't need 1 more piece of lock n lock. but  my gf and I split the set & costs.

I find many uses besides "food storage  but food storage #1.  Some of my containers are the original rounds and are seeing betterdays. from years in dishwasher.  I will donate the best ones -- I bought the last large set & haven't used it yet

i have a lock n lock for every item (not cans). in my pantry.

Too bad true yellow is not available so i bought blue (nonsparkl).  I'm always amazed how things I've got organized in them!!!
