I have the raspberry set in my cart 🛒. I somehow need to convince DH that a person can never have too much Lock and Lock and they’re cheaper than another pair of shoes 👠. 🙀🙀

I haven't ordered yet I keep wondering if I need them.  I got the double set TSV last year before the holidays and cleaned out my older ones that didn't look so nice anymore or no longer could find the lid for.  Somehow I seem to have no rounds or bowls left (due to my adult children I believe) and I prefer those over the squares for lots of things.

GROAN!   I have so many lock & Locks!  I have pieces in my basement that are BRAND NEW just waiting to see the light of my kitchen!!!  The nestables are definitely the way to go.  This set is SOOOO tempting.    I could give some away as part of a present during the holidays.  Hmmmmmmmmm...  I'm a clear girl.

Many many years ago they had a RED set...   both the BOWL and the TOP were red.  Those were my favorite.  I still have most of them and use them primarily for sauce or leftovers with sauce that may stain.   WHAT TO DO?!!!!!

For anyone that is a long time Lock and Lock owner, and understands the changes that have been made over the years, I have a cautionary note.

Take a good look at the set, and notice how many different styles of latches are on the pieces.

In my opinion the only really good latches that Lock and Lock makes are the ones we see in this set, on the rectangles to the far right of the picture. They have what I call the double locking tabs as they align with 'tabs' if you will, on the container itself.

There are several different styles of latches on the other shapes, all of which I've had before, and none of which I really care for in terms of strength, and ability to lock the piece really tightly. I find they leak easier and more often without those double tab kind of latches.

It's a great price for the set, and I'm tempted. If they all had the same locking system as the rectangles I'd be getting a couple of sets, but for now I'm on the fence because of the latches.

WHAT DID I MISS?

Is this a current thread?  What am I missing? I thought today was a d&co TSV.

@momoftwo2007

Thank you! I had no idea.  I ordered it in champagne. I like the shapes.  I only have one garage shelf on which to store it, so I'll donate some of my least used ones to make room :-)

I find myself using the glass versions more often for cooked foods that I put in the refrigerator.  I also prefer the glass for heating in the microwave.   But they are heavier and more fragile to deal with.

I have been somewhat disappointed with my Lock & Lock containers lately - have had a few lids where the tabs have broken off.  Even so, I realize nothing lasts forever.  Whenever I see these big sets I often think about pitching/donating my current pieces and starting fresh again.  I'm really liking the champagne colored lids.

My Lock and Lock was taking up so much room in my cupboards I actually did start over. I pitched almost everything (except some bigger ones that were very useful and started over with only the nestable versions. I bought sets of the sizes I use the most and now all sizes that are the same sit in a nice smaller space and don't fall over all the time. I actually bought too many.
