Nothing beats being at the "source" for prices and freshness!  Enjoy!  I live in AK and certainly enjoy the king crab...red king crab $26.95/lb at fish market.  Not a bargain by any means, but the legs are huge!

Re: Lobster Tails$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I think a lot of people enjoy their lobster products.

As for me, I'm spoiled by Australian lobster which is so much better than East Coast lobster.  I'd pay big bucks for that, but not for what they are selling.  Just a matter of who prefers what, I suppose.

Also, in some parts of the country, you can't always get certain seafoods and when you can it's going to cost a lot more than for other areas.  They sell a lot of it, so they're doing something right!  Smiley Wink

*DROOL*     Can't beat Alaskan King Crab.

There used to be a restaurant here and my birthday dinner was a selection they had that was Alaskan King Crab and Australian Lobster tail.   There was probably some other stuff on the plate, but whatever.  Oh my goodness!  That was my favorite dinner for a number of years.

Just a little ramekin of clarified butter and several lemon wedges and I was all set!

Spoiler
Aw what the heck...you only live once, I'd treat myself to more of that b'day dinner you so enjoy.  Hopefully there's another   restaurant that serves it.  Even if you don't, I'm sure you can find some king crab around you.   Go for it, cuz ya just never know!

Somebody(ies) must think they're worth the money.  They seem to have them on quite a bit these days.

Re: Lobster Tails$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I am in california, and lobster tails aren't that expensive.  Yes, they cost more than chicken, LOL  but they are a reasonable treat.  We get them a couple times a year.  We get lobster tail, the small ones for 6.99 to 7.99 each for 5 to 6 ounces..  Austrailian is about 23.99 a LB.  But they are all 8 ounces or under.  So that is 12.00@. I would not pay 199 for a few lobster, that is for sure.  Whole lobster is too much work for me, but many prefer it

They do have them on more so during the summer months, and during the holidays.  I never threw a couple of "tails" on the grill tho!  Got our fill while vacationing in Cape Cod, New Hampshire, and Maine (Moosehead Lake) 🚣⛵️
