I bought some organic liquid stevia from Trader Joe's. I like to put a dropperful in my iced green tea or hot coffee, but it's bitter.

Is all stevia bitter? Anyone use it and have a recommendation.

Thanks

Yes it is bitter if you use too much. A dropperful seems like a lot for a cup of coffee. Try just a few drops. I use powdered stevia in all my hot drinks and only use less than an 1/8 tsp to start. Never used the liquid tho.

I only use the brand STEVITA. It is the best tasting stevia liquid and powder I believe on the market. My favorite liquid flavors are vanilla and chocolate, but, they have many many different flavors besides plain.

Do you purchase Stevita at your local grocery store or is it something that has to be ordered? I'll try this one if I can find.

Gazelle,

Nevermind, I looked and found it's sold at my local grocery. Thanks

I've tried quite a few different kinds and I didn't like any of it.

I'm supposed to drink a lot of water, and I don't really care for it, but if I put some flavored stevia in my glass - just a few drops, it's delicious and I can drink more! I like the Toffee, Pomegranate, vanilla bean, and last night I tried the chocolate at my daughters, just a few drops and it's good in water, coffee, I bet teas too, but haven't tried it. The trick is to not put too much in. Never found it to be bitter at all, just delicious.

debc - did you try just a few drops?

I have made apple crisp using the powdered stevia, using just a tablespoon in place of a cup of sugar, and it's great!! We are trying to cut down on sugar alot.

No matter how little I use it has a aftertaste I don't like.
