I placed a pick up order with Walmart today.  I ordered  a bunch of romaine. To my surprise, they didn't have it and subsituated a head of leafy lettuce.   It has the big crunchy ribs like romaine but has ruffly edges on the leaves.  I think it's more expensive but if they substitute something, they charge you the lesser price.  It was shipped from Salinas, Ca.  I got romaine there 2 weeks ago.

If your Walmart is like mine, they're out of a lot of stuff all the time. They need to get their act together.

I wonder if it has something to do with the "shopper".

I remember one order last year, there were several substitutions of very common items that are always on the shelf.    The shopper was a young woman, she may have been new, an older woman came out with her when she was loading my vehicle.  I accepted some of the subs, sent others back.

There's one employee who I see often in the store shopping and has delivered to me often.   He really tries to do a good job.   One day he tried to load up a bin from a different order, I stopped him.   He was so appreciative & apologetic.   He told me, you didn't have to tell me.   I always submit a good review on him.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So True. I could not keep from laughing. Your Wal-Mart must be like ours.

I hate when I go over there only to leave to still have to go to the grocery store.

They said they had to make room for their liquor with our new liquor laws plus they are supposedley putting in an organic section. When I see it I will believe it.

Now I have to order King Arthur Flour online because they quit stocking it???

I'm not going all over town trying to find what I want. I should be able to go to one store to get what I need like you can in the grocery stores in Fl.

Ours had self checkouts then they closed all of them.

Now we have new ones opened with regular cashiers in between.

All the self checkouts have cameras now so they can see if anyone is trying to steal something.

I use self checkout for the exercise plus I can do it faster & have my stuff bagged how I want it.

I used the pick up on my last trip. They moved everything around again so it was easier to order online & pick up while they were busy during the Holidays. The time before that I was in there 2 hours looking for things. They need to stop moving stuff.

@Kachina624

It sounded as though you never had leaf lettuce before. Do you like it?

Although I love romaine, I also love leaf. Burpee's leaf lettuce is a favorite of mine to grow - and eat!

Is there a vegetable issue right now? I was at my local Smith's grocey, and the vegetable section was half empty. At Walmart for that matter, the milk and egg section was all but depleted. What is going on with grocery stores? It's like living in a foreign country where you can't get things you need all the time because of empty shelves.
