Yesterday I did a little grocery shopping and bought a bottle of pure lemon extract. I think it's McCormick brand. It was $6.79 for a ONE OUNCE bottle!! The other flavors were all in the $3 - $4 price range.
Is there some reason why the lemon would be so much higher? I hadn't bought any in a long time, and needed it, but was shocked at what I paid.
I'm looking into buying via mail order next time, but was just wondering if anyone had an idea why the lemon was so pricey? Is there a lemon shortage somewhere??
