I have had this 2.25 qt. Le Creuset rice pot for some time and I love it!  It sits on the cooktop most of the time.  I use it for rice and oatmeal mostly or to reheat something.

Since it is taller than wide, it is great for oatmeal and makes absolutely perfect small batches (1 to 1.5 cups) of white and basmati rice in 15 minutes cook time.

I just bought the larger 3 qt. LC rice pot from a LC outlet store and love it's size!  It is big enough to make soup in, so it will get used a lot here!  Both sizes have the ceramic lid that cuts down on boil overs and helps keep food warm for serving.

We have and use rice electric rice cookers a lot, but this 2.25 qt. is so perfect for quick, smaller batches that we use it a lot.

I feel sure it would handle a 2 cup batch but haven't tried it!  So don't take that as a verified statement!  Woman Embarassed

If you have questions ask and I'll try to answer!  Both pots are the black LC inside like many of their products.

For the 2.25 quart one:  I rinsed 1 heaping cup of white rice very well, added water to the depth of first knuckle over the rice, brought to a light boil over medium or barely medium heat, put the lids on and turned down the heat to low simmer for 15 minutes and the rice was perfect.

You do not want high heat, as the rice might stick on the bottom--and I sprayed the pot lightly with avocado or olive oil before added the rice.
