I accidentally let some potatoes cook dry and scorched my Dutch oven.  I've used dawn dish soap and a towel but it still has some black scorch marks on it. Is there anything else I can do???

Make a paste of baking soda and water.  Take a soft cloth or microfiber cloth and scrub the stain.  It should come out fairly easily.  If the results are not immediate, repeat process.  Wash again with dish detergent and dry thoroughly.  I use this method on all my Le Creuset vessels. My husband used my 12" covered buffet server to steam corn while I was out.  Unfortunately, he forgot to turn the gas off and the water baked on like charcoal.  I can't tell you how angry I was because this pan was very expensive.  Try this method--hope it helps.

@Glitter51 - This happened to me years ago! The first thing is - don't use anything harsh on your pot! You can try to add baking soda to water and let it simmer on low. That will loosen any parts that can come off. Le Creuset makes a cleaner that helped a little, but my saucepan (that I still have) is not the same!

Good luck, and I hope something works for you!  Smiley Happy

How about that super Dawn that you spray on?  It works miracles.

The advice you have received so far is excellent.  If you try the paste of baking soda, or Bar Keepers Friend, or Bon Ami, or Le Crueset cleaner and that doesn't work, try soaking the stain.  Here is what the customer rep at Le Creuset told me to do (years ago).

Fill your pot with very warm water to a little past the stain.  Add a few teaspoons of bleach.  Let soak for a few minutes (I usually wait about 20 minutes or so), rinse in warm water.

My pots look like brand new except that they aren't as shiny inside as the day I got them (I've had mine for years).  However, I don't have stains and the surfaces are all the white color like new.

@Glitter51

Go to You Tube and look at dozens of videos on how to clean or restore Le Creuset vessels...

Barkeeps Friend is great, and using the bleach soak method previously mentioned here will work too....there are folks on You tube who recomment overnight bleach bath for stains.

First get the burned on stuff off by soaking, and for shadows or black marks, see You Tube!!!

Now sometimes it's too much and they cannot be saved. there are lots of Le Creuset pots on E-bay that have that brown/black bottom of the pan ( in the sand colored pots).

But MOST can be cleaned to brand new (maybe not as shiny!)with the methods offered on You Tube.

You can bleach your enamelled white sink or bathtub...bleach will NOT hurt enamel.

Good luck!!!

Re: Le Creusant Help

I get good results with lightly using Soft Scrub; it took some scratches off of my Corelleware.

It sure  doesn't clean like the  vendor {(Nate) demo'd. One reason  I got rid of my one piece.

@customerqvc2

Simmer inch or two of water with a few tablespoons of baking soda, a squeeze of detergent, add a drizzle of white vinegar, it will foam quite a bit, simmer for a few minutes, stains will be removed.

Any stains remain clean with baking soda & detergent.
