Would the lamb be rubbed with rosemary or simmered in rosemary?

I've never used that spice with lamb.

Leg of lamb has garlic slivers in slits in the meat.

@Zhills  I'll see if I can help. It depends what cut of lamb you are using. If it's leg of lamb....Cut some slices into the meat with a knife. The slices should be no bigger than to fit a half garlic clove. Them pinch the top off a rosemary sprig and place it in the same hole as the garlic. Then bake your leg of lamb. Remove garlic and rosemary before carving. * Some people leave it in when carving. Totally up to you.

If you are using smaller cuts of lamb, like loin or shoulder....I toss the chops in olive oil, salt, pepper and chopped up rosemary them bake.

Or.....you can put the chops coated with olive oil, salt and pepper in a baking dish and lay some rosemary sprigs along side the chops just to perfume them. Some people don't like to eat rosemary.

Sidenote.....Always have your rosemary brushed with olive oil. It keeps it from burning and drying out.

Any questions? Just ask me. Good luck.Smiley Happy

@Queen of shop Thank you!  Sounds like it is worth ordering!

It's expensive but it is once!   I've never had a lot of lamb but all I've had was delicious!

This is precooked!  Just need to warm it!

Got my lamb shanks.  Copied this from a video I found for them.

Decided to have them for Christmas Dinner!  Now do I add Sweet Potatoes or Stuffing?

lamb shanks need basmati rice or couscous!

no stuffing/dressing or potatoes.

We love lamb and eat it often...chops and leg. Yummm.  I mostly cook it with garlic, but I love rosemary and would like it that way.  My husband hates rosemary, so I couldn't make it that way for him.. I have eaten it with mint jelly, but don't serve it way at home.

Every year when we go to Cape May, NJ, my husband orders lamb shanks from George's Place Greek resturant.  Sometime we go there twice in one week and he always orders the lamb.

Fixed the Lamb Shanks last evening and really enjoyed them!  Rosemary and Mint is not my favorite.... just garlic with lamb is!

Lots of meat on the shank.  Easily 3 meals.  Didn't use the extra Rosemary/Mint sauce!  Baked a sweet potato.

Will purchase again.....or maybe try making it myself!
