Nice try, Have6cats, but I think there is an unwritten rule that you're not allowed to post anything positive on these boards, particularly about women, who are constantly subjected to scrutiny and criticism under the guise of "constructive criticism."

Women are people, so they are not and should not be immune either to praise or criticism. Your subtle suggestion that somehow it's wrong to hold women to the same scrutiny or standards or whatever is actually patronizing and demeaning to women.

I do not like the way she sells her products on QVC. It's way over the top. To me, if you have an excellent product, you should inform us about it and demonstrate its qualities -- let the product sell itself. Frantic, hyper, obnoxious behavior makes me think of desperation, not about wonderful the merchandise may be.

It's strange to me that her "talking over" the hosts doesn't really bother me. Nothing like SG, who drives me away from the t.v. Her voice is a little strained, but I'd bet she's had throat or thyroid surgery that is causing the hoarseness. No fault of her own for sure!

I am glad you posted a positive note about her hard anodized pots. I've been torn between hers and the Blue Jean Chef pots, but I like the shape of Rachel's very much. I think I'll go for it later today. Thanks, liane.

Since there are two Rachel bashing threads going right now (one is actually on the FASHION FORUM-what's with that?), I'm posting the same thing on both. Then I'm posting the same thing on the one from someone who LOVES Rachel Ray:

I have to put in my two cents worth on this...first of all, why are people talking about Rachel Ray's cookware on a Fashion Forum??? Secondly, I have watched her since she first started on the Food Network with her 30-Minute Meal shows, and since she came to QVC with her products. I saw some of this yesterday, but I just went back and watched some of the videos, and I certainly don't see anything wrong with the way she behaved. It's okay for Susan Graver to be "passionate" about her clothing (since this IS a fashion forum), never take a breath, talk constantly over the hosts, interrupt them, the hosts can't even tell the colors without her talking so I can't hear them, etc. etc.?? That's okay for a lot of people - she's just proud of her product and PASSIONATE! Well, so is Rachel Ray. She does have a voice problem, which I would much rather hear than SG's, and which she can't help--so shame on those of you who put her down for that. She has worked extremely hard, and still does, to get where she is. I've watched her daily talk show, and she is delightful. I did not see any "rolling of the eyes" on David's part (I think he's too professional to do that even if he did feel like it, and I didn't get that vibe at all). Rachel does not talk constantly, and yes, in most of QVC's shows, hosts and vendors interrupt each other from time to time - that's normal. I have Temptations, and all 5 of the bakeware pieces I bought have crazed and cracked so I can't use them - one of them did that just sitting in my cabinet-I had never even used it! Way too late to send them back, but you can bet I would never buy another piece. I will, however, buy Rachel's, and she has every right to be proud of them, and proud of herself. There, I've said my piece!!{#emotions_dlg.sneaky}

ITA. She comes across like an excited teenager, exuding enthusiasm. I use her basic quiche recipe as a staple base. It's great for using up leftover vegetables.

I was excited when she came out with her purple stoneware (bubble and brown, etc.) as it was an exact match for my kitchen. I find it to be excellent bake ware and easy to clean. I got her dishwasher safe hard anodized cookware set in eggplant when it was the TSV and it's the best cookware I've ever had.

I think it's pretty obvious that not everyone who has ever cooked her recipes or used her products have positive things to say. It's fine that you think her recipes are awesome and that her pots are fantastic, but your statements are certainly not fact. Tastes vary - That's human nature. I happen to disagree with you. And disagreeing is not the same as "snarking".

I'm not a hater and I'm not jealous. For my own reasons, I just don't like her, so I don't watch her. I'm not right or wrong, it's just my opinion. And I'm just as entitled to it as you are to yours. Kiss

Not to be rude, but I have to agree you are entitled to your opinion. This was a positive thread, and if I had negative comments to make, I would have just passed on ruining somebody's thread. It's amazing that a poster on these boards can't run a nice, positive thread without some bad apple getting into the barrel. Very pathetic.

Her products and recipes are fine, that isn't what anyone was talking about. It is her aggressive, overbearing attitude. She doesn't let anyone else finish a thought or present the colors, sizes etc. She talks over them, raises her voice, bosses them around. That is the problem, not her products.

She is losing a lot of business because no one can stand to sit through a presentation!

Nobody can sit through a presentation, really? I'm somebody and the OP is somebody and we sat through her presentations. I rarely watch whole shows on QVC, but found myself really enjoying RR when I flipped to QVC and ended up staying there. What you see as bossy I see as enthusiastic. I have found her products to be well thought out and designed and enjoy quite a few of her recipes.

Obviously people have different tastes, so recipes/cookbooks will not appeal to everyone, but one persons blech is another persons feast!
