Veggies - raw and cooked

But ice cream makes me feel really good too!

I hear ya - don't eat a lot of fruit. The acids make my lip itchy. Love leafy greens And don't forget chocolate - it contains antioxidants.

It all comes down to common sense and portion control. Can't go by everything you hear on the news. We wouldn't be eating anything if we did. There seems to be a new study everyday. Everything in moderation and move around a little bit. It's hard to believe people haven't figured that out yet.

Harpa, it wasn't that spinach was bad for everyone, but for people who had experienced kidney stones or some such thing, and shouldn't eat spinach or cranberries...I don't remember the details. Still, you can have kidney stones and not know it, right? Meanwhile, I'm just crazy for arugula and just about any kind of greens from collards to kale to lettuce.

If you have kidney stones you need to cut oxalates which spinach is high in oxalates. Oxalates are in some fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, grains even chocolate. So if you have a problem with kidney stones you need to cut the oxalates. My brother had them & was in so much pain he had to have a friend take him to the ER.

My husband gets a kidney stone everytime he eats any kind of nut. No nuts, no more kidney stones.

I've always heard that kidney stones meant you were deficient in calcium. ? I don't know, I'm a musician! I did have them once, right after I had my daughter. So, I actually may have been deficient in something. But I'm healthy as a horse now! Smiley Happy

Anyway, Kay, I love-love arugula! Every time I watch Giada and her arugula, I always think I would eat what she makes! (Not all the time with other TV chefs!)

What I know for sure is that polyester food, as I call it, is slow poison.

Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.
