Kitchenaid stand mixer.....ice cream attachment

I am considering a Kitchenaid Stand mixer ......have debated for some time as I am already in my mid 60's and I wonder if it would be a worthwhile investment at my age. I catch myself watching all the demos and reading all the reviews....

the current rebate is an ice cream attachment.....was wondering if anyone has any input as to whether it would be better to wait for a different rebate or if the ice cream attachment is worth it. THANKS. I love to bake even though it's only myself and the hubby now....I find baking very relaxing and it is good therapy for a lot of things.
