I know! I have never seen it in pictures or any house or even model or staged home. In fact, people that I know use either white or black, sometimes stainless. My kitchen is all stainless appliances with the red Kitchenaid etc. I don't know anyone else who uses red. 

My DD's kitchen is cute with the turquoise. She has black granite-type counters so it shows well. I recently found her a turquoise toaster here locally and need to send that.

My kitchen is black and white with red accents. I have the KA chopper, the KA mixer, and the Keurig all sitting in a corner by my black refrigerator. I love the red.
