KitchenAid two dough hooks

i have two, for some reason, and I don't remember why...One is a "C" shape, the other is more of a spiral...

 

Do these have different uses? Or are they interchangeable.. I have the Pro model 6 qt bowl lift type....

As far as I know the S type fit some of the 6 qt. mixers--not sure if they fit ALL of them.  The C type fit older 6qt and most (if not all?) of the 5 and 4.5 quart tilt head models.

 

I bought a new 6 qt several years ago when the s type came out.  They REALLY DO keep the dough from climbing the hook!  They work a lot better

 

PLEASE CHECK WITH Kitchenaid and your model number to see which to use on what machines.
