K160496. I bought one, tried to use it with cabbage last night and it was pretty much a mess. I grated some cheddar cheese, and that was ok but was thinly grated and sort of curly. I didn't try the slicer yet.
Have you used this attachment and do you like it? I need some input please!
It is the one with three bell-shaped metal pieces. . .
Thanks if you can share your experiences!

I used mine for cheese all the time. I bought a nicer dicer attachment now. Cabbage is just too weird of a food to use in any machine IMO. I use a hand v slicer for that and lettuce.
The plastic around the base tends to crack on these tho. I've epoxyed mine back together, and am going to send it to a friend. It never really affected using it tho.
My mother had an all metal one, the only issue was that it was aluminum and tended to discolor some foods.
*ETA* You would use the slicer for cabbage not a shredder.

Thanks! After fiddling with it, it's going back!

I use mine to shred cheese, too. I once tried slicing potatoes, and it was a mess. My mandoline does a much better job at slicing.
Tip: Do not put your shredder/slicer attachments in the dishwasher. They will rust.
