Kitchen mishap - need some advice ...

I was using the meat tenderizer gadget that I bought from In the Kitchen with David on some chicken breasts. I've used it before. It's excellent. I was going to put it in the dishwasher when it fell on my foot.

Can I get salmonella from this?

Also, if you own one, be sure to lock it.
