Sounds like an oil/lubricant leak.

It could be a leak or it could be the attachment. Are your attachments nylon coted or burnished metal? If burnished metal, have you put them in the dishwasher? The burnished metal attachments must be handwashed as dishwasher detergents cause them to oxidize.

Yes it does. My mom had a very old mixer (40 years) and it started to do that. I'm sure it is fixable, but she wasn't using hers any more ( nearly 80 and not baking anymore) so we sold it and told the buyer what was up. Only got $25 for it and it still looked new.
I'd get in touch with the company and get it warranted.
