It depends on what I am making. Sometimes my kitchen is a mess and sometimes I clean as I go.

i keep a container in my sink while preparing.  I throw peels, paper, boxes, seeds, fat, skin, cans, egg shells and anything I need to toss.  That seems to keep the clutter off of my counter top and keeps me from spilling or dropping something while getting to the trash can.

i try to put things in the dishwasher as I am done with them, or the sink if it can‘t go in the dishwasher.

So far, so good.

If I am making soup...my kitchen seems to be a mess.  I make homemade stock, then pick the meat off of the bones.  Then if noodles or some other ingredient is needed, I am rolling out dough and it seems every serface in my kitchen has clutter.

i have a habit of not putting the lid back on the bottle of vanilla...then I spill it.  I sometimes get flour or sugar on my counters...I am trying to remember to use a baking sheet under the bowl to collect this.

i leave a half a stick of soft of butter on the counter, then set something on top of it, or smash it with my elbow.

i guess it doesn’t matter how messy the kitchen gets.  What matters is how good the food turns out.
