I have a kitchen aid toaster oven that I didn't pay that much for. But with every toaster oven I've ever had, the toaster  part doesn't work after a couple of years of use, so now I still use the oven part, I have a separate toaster ( Proctor-Silex). though I only use it about once a week now.

I've had 3 or 4 toasters in the past 5-10 years.  I want it toasted on both sides.  Currently using my toaster oven, flip it halfway.  It takes 8-9 minutes, I've tried so many breads.  Miss the old toaster  my family probably had 40 years ago.  They used it probably 25-30 years.  I certainly won't pay $250 for a toaster.

FYI -- I have no intentions of buying this toaster.  I just found it unbelievable a 2-slice toaster could cost that much.  The way things are made these days, it's just not worth it.

For $210 you could buy a Ninja double convection oven makes great toast lol.

Versatile and each oven works very well.

In the past 20-25 years my dear sister and I have had two toasters, both great.

The first one was a Kitchenaid, dark red with slots for regular sliced toast and bagels!

It browned evenly and the bagels browned and the middle was warm and soft.

We replaced it when my dear sister found a pink (her favorite color) Smeg toaster, with two long slots. It also browns evenly and I still use it.

I believe you get what you pay for and one needs to do a lot of research.

The KitchenAid toaster? We gave it to a neighbor and it still works like new.

The KitchenAid toaster was bought here on QVC.

@lynnie61  Since the 70s, I have been using toaster ovens and

I love themfor heating leftover pizza, other crispy foods or baking small things, rather than heat up the big oven.

   I've always had good luck making toast or bagels, both sides always get toasted, until they wear out after about 10 years.

I mostly bought Cuisinart, but my current one is Panasonic and I love it.

It is cute, little and toasts perfectly, with several settings.

@Enufstuff   I have a delonghi  it's fine for pizza or something quick, but terrible for toast.  It takes 8-9 to get any color, but then it seems hard.  It's seems ok for bagels.
