Kitchen Aid TSV Convection Oven

[ Edited ]

I really liked this oven, but in 7 days, it was "dead".  Received it on September 28th and wouldn't do anything this morning October 5th.  I took it to the post office and am asking for an exchange, don't know if that was smart or not.  If the one I get in exchange stops, I'm not going to get another one.  Thank goodness I had the boxes it came in to return it, I almost through them out. Anyone else get a "dud" or are yours still going?

The timer on mine didn't work from the get-go.  Returned it and didn't want a replacement.  Keep it, KA. Extremely disappointed.

As Q updated their major appliances from Kitchen Aid over the last 20 years would I give mine away and purchase the updated models of everything to get new bells and whistles.

All of the newer machines up to almost 12 years ago were of much lesser quality and the effectiveness of each was diminished.

I so want a new hand mixer but don't want to let go of my 15 YO one to get one that does not work as well.

Was afraid of that!  Hopefully my situation will work out, if not, guess it will go back again!

My red one was good. Had no trouble. did have trouble with a KA mixer though, showed up busted up. kitchen aid sent box and paid the postage, didn't like this one either you had to adjust the screws all the time for beater rotation, sent it back,

Q refunded my money, went to B&B and got a KA Mini and it's great.

Cuisinart is just a better product. I got a big Cuisinart never a moment's problem with it for yrs.

Walmart sells them now, too.

I bought the digital version of this oven over a year ago from Amazon. It works great and I sometimes wonder if the TSV's  are cranked out in such great numbers that they are more prone to problems. Just a thought.

So far so good with mine.

I really like it.   I did save my boxes.

When you sell 60,000 units in one day, what's the tolerance for failure?

1%?    600?

0.1%?   60?

There were bound to be a few duds.

I half expected mine to be one of those.

When  I was looking at small ovens, I considered KA but ended up buying a Breville. And it is such a good little oven, but I paid $250 for it. That was last January and have not used my big oven except to store the stuff for my Brevie in it. Just cooks better and uses less power. I use it everyday and so happy with it.
