Re: Keurigs. How many have you had?

I'm on my 5th (at least) Keurig.  All of them purchased have been defective.  Keurig exchanged them for me and sent a brand new one each time.

I was just trying to get one that lasted more than a month.

Keurig paid for the return postage of the defective one each time.  These machines must cost next to nothing being made in China for them to afford all the exchanges.

I've had my current Keurig about 4 months.  Hopefully it will last even longer.  Once the warranty expires, I won't buy another of this brand.  I paid about $175 for each of these machines.

None.   Only just a couple of weeks ago I threw away a Mr. Coffee that stopped working after 22 years.  Replaced with another Mr. Coffee.

None.  When I drank coffee, I used instant.  I gave up on coffee 10 - 15 years ago.

Re: Keurigs. How many have you had?

TOO MANY!

It seemed to me as time progressed that the original was the best. or at least the older models.

They were solid but slowly they transitioned into what seemed to me to be all plastic lol

They leaked, the water level wouldn't make a full mug of brew, or the water would stop seeping fully and just trickle.

I did everything recommended to service them but I gave up.

I gave up coffee last year and healthwise it was the best decision ever!

I've had two.  The first one would not function on the clean mode.  I called and they replaced it and had that one about a year and I only use it in the evening and out of the blue it won't turn on or do a single thing.  RIP Keurig.  Maybe I'll try a Ninja.

@rms1954 - this is the version we have, with the built in frother.  It may seem like a useless feature to some but I use it every morning to blend my bulletproof coffee.  It's so handy and reliable to have directed consistent power rather than a battery style that loses power and either needs recharging or replacement batteries.  I like this coffeemaker so much that when I spotted one on clearance  I bought it as backup in case ours ever bit the dust.  I've gifted the same model to our kids and they like it as well.

i currently have three (and i dont even use them.) i have them because my mom likes the keurig k cups and so do my friends and family. i prefer a percolator or a french press. the oldest one i currently own is probably at least eight years old.

overall, the ones that came before them lasted a long time.

@rms1954  We've only had 2 total. We bought the first one when they first came out many years ago. The first one never broke. The only reason we replaced it was to get a model with more features. Ours last!

I got one for my daughter a few years ago--she said it made the coffee  bitter--no matter what we did to clean it or use bottled water--just always made bitter coffee. I donated prob a year later. I got her a tiny 4 cup Mr Coffee for xmas 2 years ago--and that thing makes really good coffee--was under $20---

[ Edited ]

I have had similar experience to @JeanLouiseFinch Except my first purchased (10 ?) years ago--one of the first(?) little squatty models lasted at least 5 years(which is pretty good for a countertop appliance anymore). Then I tried a newer model and until it needed cleaning I loved it... hot and tasty coffee! Then I cleaned it as per instructions and it stopped totally. Keurig made good on it and sent me another all on them. This process repeated 2 more times. I just threw the last one away and ate the costs.

I am very happy now with a Ninja. It has a permanent filter, makes a single cup no pods, or full pot in rich, classic, iced, or cold brew.
