Never heard of some of the stores in which you get them cheap. We do have a Sam's Club but I don't have a membership.

I bought a box of 5 at Wegman's today--only $3.49!

My local market street has them $1.25 and I saw many flavors, including the savory ones which I thought Rick said were only at QVC.

Not everyone has access to all of these places. Frankly, I've never even seen some of the stores mentioned. Shopping options are very limited in some places, even in large cities. So believe it or not, not everyone can find them for $1.33. Many delis, convenience stores and bodegas here sell them only individually, and in the $2 to $2.50 range, and in very limited variety.

That's a good deal, must have been on sale?

I don't think they were on sale--I was surprised at the price!

I just don't see that they are better than a candy bar. Eat a candy bar, get that sugar rush you're after, then don't do it again for a long time. If I am going to eat something like this, it would be a Snickers. Or on the other hand, some plain nuts if I am worried about health concerns, and skip the chocolate and sugar.

ITA. What irks me....the fact they are MARKETED as a healthier alternative.....they're NOT!! At least with a candy bar, you know straight up what'cha getin'. Much like the 'flavored water' thread...the public buys into this false security. Sad.

And it makes me crazy when I see manufacturers do this...when I know some people really ARE trying to make improvements....but advertisers are like a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing.

Well over all they do have better ingredients. Calories are about the same but saturated fats and sugars are not even a fourth of a candy bar.
