I have to be gluten-free, so I make my own pierogy. I'd love the sauerkraut ones, but family will only eat potato cheese. Takes all day to make, but so worth the effort!

I make homemade pierogies twice a year. For the cheese ones I use a dry farmers cheese those are big like the size of a hot pocket.I boil them and than fry them in a pan with butter till browned. My husbands favorite. I make potato and cheese(sharp cheddar cheese)prune&cabbage ones.Make enough to last for awhile.Eat a lot during Lent donot eat meat on Wednesday and Fridays during lent.
