Re: It's August - Whats Cooking???

I am on a sweet potato kick.  Did tater tots the past two days and then a baked one with dinner last night.

Made cutlets for the week so I will be on a sweet potato and cucumber salad side binge.   Smiley Very Happy

[ Edited ]

Yesterday was another day with no specific cooking. Had some homemade burritos in the freezer so guess what Davey had for dinner last night? I had a bagel - that was dumb but I was so tired I was not up to much except getting the little girl ready for bed. Ricky went to visit some friends - he should be back tomorrow or Friday - he was soooooooooo excited.

Need to try and find some energy - have to take Davey to school then the little one for her MD checkup - probably a shot also. LOL. You know how it goes when they are little ones. Did not sleep much so would much prefer sleeping. Do not think I can get by with that right now however. LOL.

Have a great day everyone. Soushi, we so miss you here. Also miss the others who seem to have disappeared - hurry back!!! Again, have a great day!

The minute I posted I saw you stopped by Laura - I too LOVE sweet potatoes. It also is the little girl's favorite food at this stage in her life - she was one year old on Monday.

@Laura14  I love sweet potatoes, but especially yams.  I have to give my mail pup some yam every morning to keep his an-l glands clear, so the girl gets a tiny blop, and after I cook a new yam, I eat some first, then put it in the frig for the pups. Smiley Happy

Re: It's August - Whats Cooking???

Last night, I cut from the vine and sliced an enormous ridged tomato and cut some basil from the garden, which I julienned and mixed with salt and extra virgin olive oil, slipped slices of buffalo mozzarella between the tomato slices and drizzled the basil mixture over all, also served two beef patties, from here, and garlic bread to DH.  I just ate the cheese, basil, tomato, and garlic bread.  I bought an Acme baguette, love these, all crust, and slathered the halves with a mixture of unsalted butter, extra virgin olive oil, parsley, and garlic crushed in salt, and toasted in the toaster oven.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Smiley Happy
