Exactly why! I wrote that on another thread. Temp-tations is an in-house QVC brand. Lock 'n' Lock (which I love) will be going bye-bye soon. I can almost guarantee it!

I have a few holiday pieces of TT, which I honestly have never used for cooking. I use them to transfer cooked items into - they make a cute display in winter (Hometown Holiday pattern w/snowflakes and holly). Not too Christmassy.
I do like the Lock and Lock products, have several sets of the clear (glass-like) ones and enjoy using those. I don't see the need for TT to get into that competition. They already have another line of identical products - Prepology.
A lot of you feel TT is now an in-house QVC brand. Probably it is. But I still think, considering that Tara lives down the street from DV and he pushes her items all the time, that he is somehow involved in the ownership and/or marketing of the TT line. Otherwise, isn't it just too much of a coincidence - a neighbor and good friend who just happened to "invent" a kitchen item?

I'm confused about the TSV. I thought we had gotten away from the idea of "microwave cooking". Yes, I get that the items are BPA-free, etc., but real-deal cooking in the micro really doesn't seem to be on trend with what's going on in the food world, right? I could be way off base here and tell me if I am.

To be fair, and even as much as I find Temptations products repugnant, I really don't think that David has part ownership in the brand. I think his relationship is just that she is a neighbor and friend - they work together sometimes. People push the stuff that the people they care about are offering. Not to mention the fact that people push the products that they are paid to push. ![]()
I think it's just a bridge too far to imagine that he has some kind of stake, aside from maybe his emotional stake in that he likes her and he is a paid employee of the company that is representing the products he is presenting.

I think they just capitalize on the fact that a lot of people these days don't want to actually cook and are looking for fast, easy ways to 'prepare' food without having to spend the time and effort involved to make better food. Convenience seems to trump quality for many folks.
I wouldn't want to be without a microwave, but I could not imagine cooking food in it. The only plastic type products I even use for heating in the microwave are the hard plastic type, such as Tupperware Rock n Serve. I don't even know if they have BPA, but I just do it for me so if it kills me, so be it. hehe - nobody else is at peril.

I was hesitant about these, as I'm a big fan of L&L, until recently. I have ordered two (different) sets of L&L recently and they are so not what they used to be. They aren't as thick, the seals are smaller, and both sets leaked water terribly. I love the many many old ones I have, but I might be done with the newer lines of L&L.
I decided to give the TT ones a try, because I need more, and they can't be any worse than the two sets of L&L I've sent back recently, and if they aren't up to par, they will go back too.
I think the big draw is the patterns to match all people's other TT kitchen items. Makes for a nice, coordinated look. In my opinion they are prettier than anything L&L has offered, but that is just a matter of one person's taste compared to another's.
Q is not carrying a lot of the bigger sizes of L&L anymore ( like the bigger 9x13 and larger sizes) and I miss those offerings. I could use more of those, and less of the sets full of little pieces.
There was a whole hour of Microwave Cooking on Q today, and I was surprised as well, as I thought that was out of vogue. I guess with summer coming, microwave based cookware might sell because people don't want to turn on the oven.

I agree with you. I don't think David has a financial interest in TT. I know he and Tara are friends/neighbors, but I think he is selling her items as a salesperson directed by QVC. I doubt he can ask for certain vendors to bring a TSV, etc. I do think these are a "copy" of Lock n Lock. They didn't mention partnering with L n L on it so guess it is strictly a TT item, but is very similar to L n L.
