@Desertdi I make an easy delicious egg nog pound cake, but egg nog only available this time of year. A few years ago, I got smart and baked 10-12 cakes. Some went to neighbors as gifts, a few to DH's office and froze the rest for when we wanted some later in the year. Stayed fine for 6 months (wrapped in foil and then in ziplock bags).
@Shanus I add nutmeg and rum flavoring to pound cake mix. (Also to tapioca.)

SHANUS' EGG NOG CAKE
Preheat oven to 350.
3/4 cup egg nog
3/4 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 box vanilla cake mix (w/o pudding added)
1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding (about 3.4 oz. size)
Combine all ingredients into mixing bowl except eggs & nutmeg. Mix on low to med. speed for 2 min. Add eggs one at a time. Add nutmeg.
Use a Bundt pan sprayed well w/ PAM. Bake at 350 for 45 min. (40 minutes in convection oven)
*** 2 cake recipes fit in my mixing bowl at same time
ENJOY! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Retired Legal Secretary, several years ago I started making pumpkin pies with no crust. DELICIOUS! There are a couple family members who object, but most of us love it--with generous dollops of whipped cream, of course!

Thanks so much @Shanus ! I look forward to making this! 😊

This is a drink, not food, but I always buy eggnog as the Christmas season approaches (and until they stop selling it in the stores). Of course, I only drink a small amount at any given time, but I do love it!

My husband allows himself one container of egg nog in December, and for me it would be peanut butter balls or fudge.

@insomniac2 I love the plain pumpkin custard. It is so much easier than a pie. A bonus is I use my Rachel Ray ramekins. I have a set of 8 10oz. pretty green ramekins that just sit on my open shelves. Pretty is nice but using them is better.

I only do a whole turkey on Thanksgiving. Christmas I do a turkey breast because the main meat is roast beef or pork roast or ham. I only serve squash or pumpkin pies on Thanksgiving.
