Have you ever used your Instantpot as a slow cooker?   I never have.  I need to cook something all day, but won't be home to monitor it so I'm kind of scared to try it.

What were your experiences if you've did this?

Thanks!

What are you cooking?  If you don't have a crock pot you can put a Dutch oven type of pot in the oven and leave it on low (250 degrees or so).

I am not familiar with the instapot.

I used the instant pot in slow cooker mode to cook a beef roast.

It was the Mississippi Roast recipe so the only liquid it had was 1 stick of butter.  I was worried that it might cook dry, but it didn't.  I was pleased with the way it came out.  The only thing that I did was after 6 hours, I turned the roast over (since it was not completely covered in liquid) and cooked it 2 more hours.

I'm making porcupine meatballs.  I love mine cooked in a crockpot.  I was just being lazy and wanted to put them in the instanpot.  It sits out on my counter and I use it almost daily.  I have to dig out one of my crockpots.  I figured I might as well try it.

The reason I said they have to cook all day is that I will be at work.  The instant pot does click down to "keep warm" after the time is up.  I'm not sure how long many hours to set it for either.  You think 6 hours is right?

Thank you both!

I think it will work wonderfully and be safe to do so without fear of fire.

I hate to post this, but I chickened out.  I pulled out the crockpot. One reason I changed my mind is that my instantpot wasn't going to be very full so I thought I better use a smaller pot.  I will try it soon though when I have more to cook.  I'll post my results.

Thanks all!
