It is better to cook cabbage-family vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflower and kale, because these foods, in their raw state, contain compounds that can interfere with thyroid hormone production.
When cooking vegetables, it is very important not to overcook them. Light steaming, baking, or quick stir-frying are the best ways to cook vegetables.
I can't eat cabbage-family vegetables raw. My body naturally won't accept them, unless they are cooked. I always either light-steam or stir-fry my veggies, so I have been doing everything right already! That is good to know.
