I really like (can't say love here) a ham sandwich on rye with swiss, lettuce and a little mayo and yellow mustard.
Ham for dinner? Uh, ok. I do prefer the spiral sliced brown sugar hams. DH keeps wanting the one with the glaze, pineapple, and cherries. It's ok, I guess. I could easily grill some pineapple on the side of mine for peace.
I started thinking, what do most people prefer? Ladies? Thanks!

When I initially do the ham I make a glaze and use that. Fortunately, the KC hams that I like just send a packet of their glaze, so it's not already on there.
For subsequent meals I like to make a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Just like a grilled cheese (butter on outsides of bread, cheese in middle) but with a slice of ham inside also. I do it either with the melty slices (Kraft sharp cheddar variety) or with some nice Monterey Jack. The latter is probably my fav.
I also make split pea soup with the bone that still has a bunch of ham on it.
Otherwise - not much. Pretty boring.
But that's cool. Years ago I made up a nice casserole but wouldn't ya know it, I forgot to write down my recipe so I never did that again. Too bad. It was really good, too. ![]()

my favorite way to eat it for breakfast is a couple of slices of ham, slightly seared on the stove, with two sunny side up eggs on the side, and a couple of slices of toast.
my favorite way to eat it for lunch is sliced paper thin, with either dijonnaise or a sweet/hot mustard, swiss or yellow american cheese, and on marble rye or a pumpernickel bagel.
my favorite way for dinner is a good, hearty ham and bean soup.
thanks @ECBG now i am craving ham. LOL

Ham is not my favorite. If I have to serve it I always get a Honey Baked spiral ham. No cooking involved - just bring up to room temp. My favorite leftover is ham salad with pickle, celery, Dijon mustard and some mayo served as tea sandwiches or with crackers.

I like to buy a spiral ham and just heat it up...no sweet stuff on it.We eat it with horseradish.I always make scalloped potatoes as a side and any other vegetable will do,but preferably green beans.

Growing up, my mother always covered the ham w/cloves. Us kids called it small pox ham.
The name stuck through the years. Very delicious because of the cloves tastes. The kitchen smelled of cloves also as the ham cooked. Very fond memories.
Fresh ham sammaches were very plain. Just yellow mustard & ham. That's it. Now, for me it's the same except I use the hot brown mustard.

I like a ham sandwich. Bakery rolls, American cheese, mustard, with a side of home made potato salad.

My favorite way to fix it is to swing by the Honey Baked Ham store and pick one up. And that's what I will be doing tomorrow. My favorite way to serve it is to yank slices off the spiral sliced ham and shove them in my mouth. YUM!

If we're having a crowd and making ham sandwiches, I prefer a plain spiral ham, warmed in the oven but not hot.
For a ham dinner, I'm a traditionalist and prefer to make it like my mom did - scored and dotted with cloves in the "X", then topped with a mixture of crushed pineapple, brown sugar, and a little dry mustard, and baked in the oven. DH likes salty ham more than sweet ham so more often than not I'll leave it plain, but now and then I've got to have it "my way".
I've tried using my Ninja 4-in-1 for my spiral ham and haven't been pleased with the results. It seems to dry the ham out too much so I've gone back to the oven.
