Ideas, please... kitchen blackboard.

I bought this magnetic blackboard for my small kitchen, more for decoration than function.  I have chalk pens and it came with magnets, but I'm afraid to add more visual clutter to an already small space.

I'm not sure if I should write one large quote on it, or a favorite poem or something, or if I should pin something on it like recipes and vintage family photos.  The kitchen is small and I'm concerned that vintage photos will become dirty or damaged.IMG_7844.JPG

Please share your ideas - I love getting input from my forum friends.

Thank you.

I would put a nice short quote at the top and maybe a couple of grocery items a bit lower.  Let it serve 2 purposes!  Enjoy!  Love the kitchen area!

@house_cat IMO I would put up (in protective cover) old family recipes, old family pictures, etc. You look at them everyday. I’m at the age (64) my my mom’s and aunts handwritten notes, recipes, etc mean more to me than store bought items (which I have).

Whatever you do, do it for you. You will be looking at it everyday. Enjoy.

PS I love your kitchen.

@Sweetbay magnolia

That's most likely what I'll do, though I'm having a hard time getting started.

I would find a new home for the pail and rolling pin.

There's nowhere else to put that, but the cake stand is negotiable.

I would start with a quote you enjoy, a simple picture or you could make it a calendar as well.  If you start small them inspiration will move you.

I would do one quote at a time.  When you find a quote you really like, change it up.  But don't clutter up the board with a lot of different things.

It's a chalkboard and should be fun..... write something, draw something, and erase is how you get started.  Just draw a smiley face, write the word peace, or "Under His Eye" if you live in Gilead... lol!
