Ice coffee machine

I don't understand the machines, so hopefully someone can clarify for me.

Granddaughter wants and ice coffee machine and when looking to purchase, the complaints were the coffee is hot!

 

I don't drink cold coffee so I am not sure what to purchase...do they work like a coffee pot?  If they do, then the beverage would be hot, if not how do they work?

I'd ask her exactly what she has in mind as to brand names. 8 Maybe it's cold brew?

It's super simple to make cold brewed coffee.  No machine required. I have a container in my fridge at all times.
