Does anyone have any experience with ice cream makers -- KitchenAid attachment or a stand alone ice cream maker -- and care to recommend one?
I would like to make homemade frozen yogurt and sorbet this summer while controlling to ingredients due to family food allergies. We have a KA stand mixer but since the ice cream maker attachment is the same price at the stand alone ice cream makers, would it be work the wear and tear on the KA motor to run for 20-30 at a time to make ice cream?
Also, I make homemade yogurt by the gallon every couple of weeks for less than $3. This makes creating homemade fruit based frozen yogurt very economical as each fruit is in season.
Cost: I'd imagine $100 or less would be a fair budget
