Re: ITKWD -- Introducing a New Approach to the Show Tonight -- 3/3

Though I do profess to be a DV fan, I suspect this will be little different than the usual.. Happy to be wrong!

I'm trying to think of a new approach for ITKWD.  How about letting the audience select which products will be presented, like those TV competitions in which viewers vote?  Granted, the show would be less polished but it would be more fun.

That is exactly what I posted today on David's IG page...do some real cooking with the products you show.  Then again, most are prepacked/frozen selections.

I'd love to see David be a co-host and have a chef like Curtis Stone or a Food Network host be there cooking.

I don't know what more they can do with the segments -- they are old, tired and boring ...and let's not forget how nice it is the vendors are NOT there (IMO) to spend 10 minutes kissing and hugging ...although, David's happy dance is nice once in a while.

I hope its bringing Stacey Stauffer back and doing her old show Step by Step...I miss real talent in the kitchen.

Heck, after all these years I can sell almost every product since they repeat endless hours of them!!!

New music, a new set and David talking a mile a minute trying to excite the viewers. Really don't see how this is going to enhance sales.  I have to believe sales are down if they are trying this new approach.

@Sweetbay magnolia  and @homedecor1  I'm so underwhelmed. I guess I was naive enough to think something really new was coming. So disappointed! Won't fool me again. BTW, that oven/microwave piece looks like my grandaughter's play set.

I'm enjoying the show.  However, I am at a loss for what's truly REIMAGINED

  • New set (But they just did new sets recently).

  • No ITKWD music intro or David wearing his apron

It's like a mash-up of ITKWD & Down Home With David.

They are trying to make it "hip" to appeal to the 20 and 40.somethings.  I find the music annoying.... and I miss the Apron. I guess the look of a middle aged man. On an apron did not appeal to the younger women.

Why does he really need the apron he's not really doing any cooking, it makes him look silly

It is refreshing to not have vendors in the studio, as I said in the other thread will be interesting to see what happens going forward and how much they really need to be there. The technology is improving on the remote selling every week
